Toe Protection and Inner Liner of the HAIX® Black Eagle® Safety 42 Low
This lightweight composite toe shoe incorporates all that you need in a comfortable safety shoe, including flexible, metal free puncture protection that is certified to ASTM and CAN/CSA. The protective toe cap is made of fiber reinforced plastic that passes the highest safety requirements, and the added rubber bumper on the outside gives some added abrasion resistant protection to the toe area, perfect when having to kneel while on the job. The highly breathable microfiber fabric combines with a GORETEX® Extended inner liner to make these lightweight composite toe shoe not only highly cool and breathable, but waterproof as well. Your feet will stay dry and comfortable all day long no matter how hard you sweat or what kind of day it might be outside, thanks to these comfortable safe shoes.
HAIX® Sole Materials and Lacing System
The lightweight yet durable sole has anti-slip properties built in to keep you safely on your feet in different scenarios whether working inside or outside. Offering enhanced toe to heel support and a built in arch support system, these safety sneakers are bound to keep you comfortable all day long. The sole also provides excellent thermal insulation, especially when standing on cold or warm surfaces. The outer sole has the added convenience of being non-marking, as well as resistant to heat, oil and gasoline. These oil resistant shoes also EH rated and certified.
Our HAIX® Smart Lacing system allows you to lace up with a single pull. With these comfortable safety shoes you will never need to tie laces again, basically making this shoe more like a slip on. Your shoes will go on and off easily, a nice convenience to have after a long day on your feet. The low friction lacing offers perfect tension adjustments that can then be locked into place with the quick lock system. The bright blue laces can then be tucked inside the handy lace pocket on the top of the shoe.

- Out of warranty footwear can be refurbished with original factory parts through an extended wear package. Great shows and great customer service
The only reason I knocked off a star is because I feel like the insoles are not thick enough. The shoe otherwise is great. Has saved my toes a few times and does not set off the metal detector at my work. Great look as they come across more like athletic shoes. The customer service from Haix is great as well. I had to return the first pair I bought because they didn't fit and the process was very easy. They also contacted me to find out how the shoes were working out for me. She said she would send me a new pair of thicker insoles. I have not gotten them yet, but I have faith she sent them. I would recommend these shoes.
Comfortable, functional, quick on/off
Probably over-engineered for a hospital environment, but they have saved my toes from being run over by bed wheels more than once, my feet stay dry in puddles and I don't stress about a little stray blood, and they are quite breathable. I bought a pair for my partner a while back, who was actually thrown from her vespa (not that these are rated for motorcycle use, they are not nearly high enough) but based on her bruising elsewhere, and the mechanism, she begrudgingly admitted they probably saved her from a few broken toes.
I am going to subtract a point because they do look a bit goofy. I once had a patient accuse me of "wearing clown shoes". I would probably prefer them in a solid black without the blue stripe.
I am sure I will buy another pair when they eventually wear out, I have been wearing this pair for almost 2 years for 15 days a month, usually for 12-14 hours at a stretch.
Awesome shoes
Saved my toes/foot today. I don't set off the metal detector when I go through it before/after work. The only thing that I would change is the insoles. There is not as much support in the toes.
Black Eagle safety low 42
So far so good.... good looking, durable somewhat heavy shoes should 'stand me' well in my job as crossing guard in central Florida...already got 2 complements and haven't even started the new school season...

Still new, have only worn couple of times but have great expectations. Have already gotten 2 unsolicited complements on the look. I work as a crossing guard in central Florida so safety is an issue and so is the wet weather. I believe these will do the trick when I return to work in August. Thanks in advance for a great product( even though a factory second), and a speedy delivery....
42 Low is my new favorite -
I bought a pair of 52 Low about a year or so ago and love them. Its a unique feel having a low cut shoe, but in a hard shell like a boot. I would say, though, they seem slightly heavier. I have a pair of boots thay are actually lighter than these. However, in hindsight that's an easy compromise for me to make after how well they fit, feel and have held up over time. I feel they are super comfortable and feel they have great support for my foot type. They've held up great for the most part and the extended wear program allowed me to keep wearing them LONG past the life of any other work shoes I've worn since starting my new career in mid 2018. All I needed was a set of laces and insoles about 6 or 7 months in and they've been good. Hell, I could still be wearing them, but they're looking kinda shabby on the toes so I decided for an upgrade.
On the the 42...These new shoes are nice! The feel and fit I would say is almost identical to how the 52 low felt. However the look is much more athletic, perhaps slightly a more athletic feel as well, but quite similar to the 52. The 42 has a different type of toe on the outside so I hope it holds up better over time than the leather on the 52s. The leather on them seemed susceptible to getting scratched and scuffed quite early on, although I'd say they really held up well over time...but just looks really beat up.
One concern I have with this shoe is that other types of work shoes I've work that have mesh type material over the top of the shoe tends to get worn and develop a hole in one spot near the bend of the big toe. If that holds up over time along with toe wear, these win my vote over the 52 Low. They're more casual and athletic looking and I've received a bunch of compliments on them.

I'm a industrial mechanic for ups and am on my feet 12 to 15 hours a day these are very comfortable and look like they will hold for a long time. Had been purchasing from another brand but they wouldn't last over 7 months. These are my go to safety shoes now. Thank you Haix

HAIX Black Eagle Safety 42 Low
HAIX has made a good attempt to introduce a light weight work shoe. In my case, the shoe ran a little big, so if you are a "half size" consider going down a size. The inner shell of the shoe (i.e., where your foot goes) is hard or tough, so if you are looking for a soft shell that is flexible like a running shoe this is not the shoe for you. Hence, be sure to wear thick socks with these shoes. The lacing system is great and I like the way you can tuck the laces up under the tongue and then use the velcro. The bottom line, if you are thinking about a boot and see these perhaps consider the boot option. On the other hand, if you want to try something different consider some of the observations here.

These shoes are great for work and off duty wear.. they're light weight and durable.
